New Jersey Sleep Disorder Services

We will work to help you understand and treat your nighttime troubles

Anything that affects your ability to get a full night of restful sleep can seriously affect your overall health if not treated promptly. Our medical professionals working in our sleep centers will begin your treatment with a comprehensive neurological examination using the most sophisticated diagnostic equipment to monitor your sleeping brain, hear, respiratory and muscular activity.

Our experienced sleep disorders specialists provide expert interpretation of sleep studies' data to diagnose your specific sleep-related problems. Once we know exactly what’s going on, we carefully craft a treatment plan to provide you with the best care possible. Our specialists work with both you and your physician to implement this plan to effectively manage your condition. Some of the most common conditions we treat include:

  • Sleep apnea: This is a common and often under-diagnosed sleep disorder that causes repeated episodes of stopped breathing (apneic episodes) and startling or gasping for air during sleep. Many people suffering from this disorder no not realize they are suffering from it, but leaving it untreated can have severe or even life-threatening consequences.
  • Restless leg syndrome: This is a condition that causes odd sensations in the legs and an urgency to move the legs that often becomes worse while resting or asleep. While it is not a life-threatening condition, it can be incredibly uncomfortable and interfere with natural sleep patterns.
  • Insomnia: This is a condition that prevents patients from achieving a restful and sustained night’s sleep. Insomnia can affect every part of the sleep process, including falling asleep, staying asleep and waking up too early in the morning. It can cause people suffering from this disorder to feel tired during the day, be especially moody and even cause problems with your ability to think.
  • Nightmares: Children are often affected by nightmares growing up, but it can also affect adults from time to time. It is often caused when facing an elevated level of stress in your day-to-day life, and can also be caused by the use or consumption of alcohol and drugs. Frequent nightmares should be brought to the attention of your doctor.
