Concussion Impact Tests for Child Athletes

Our society is slowly becoming more and more cognizant of the lasting, long-term effects of concussions. And when children or adolescents are involved in team athletics, accidental concussions can sometimes occur.

That’s why the Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center for child athlete patients is pleased to offer concussion screenings across New Jersey.

A concussion baseline study (ImPACT) is a non-invasive test that tracks information such as memory, reaction time, speed and concentration that can help identify potential issues for young athletes. If an athlete is believed to have suffered a head injury, this screening test may be used to evaluate the severity of the injury and determine when it is safe to return to play.

The Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center is a statewide program that furthers our commitment the health of children and young adults.
