Preliminary Pediatric Athletic Cardiac Screenings

Sudden cardiac arrest and tragic death in young athletes can easily be avoided through preliminary testing to identify serious cardiac problems.

Nearly 90 percent of sudden cardiac deaths in young athletes occur during or after athletic activities, and hidden heart conditions are often the cause. Cardiac screenings include a baseline EKG and evaluating blood pressure and vitals along with a thorough review of medical history and EKG interpretation by a pediatric cardiologist, who can recommend further testing or intervention as needed.

As a vast health care provider system, we can offer our medical services and assistance to patients both in and out of the state. So when it comes to pediatric athletic cardiac screenings, we’re always just around the corner.

With that in mind, the Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center is proud to serve and care for more pediatric patients than any other health care organization in the state of New Jersey. This program furthers our long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of children and young adults.
