Pediatric Rheumatology Experts
Our Pediatric Rheumatology Division is a New Jersey hub of leading physicians and medical professionals serving the needs of children and adolescents across the state.
Pediatric rheumatic diseases comprise a complex array of chronic diseases with fluctuating courses that often are challenging to diagnose and manage. These diseases often lead to significant morbidity in children—disability that may be permanent and can potentially affect different aspects of growth, development and quality of life. Early diagnosis is essential to properly manage these children to prevent long-term complications.
Our child-friendly and family-focused centers provide comprehensive treatment, education, and follow-ups for pediatric patients dealing with rheumatic diseases throughout the region.
Our program strives to deliver on these objectives when it comes pediatric rheumatology care:
- Provide the best possible patient care for children with rheumatologic disorders
- Enhance the teaching and training of medical students, residents, and students in allied health professions
- Conduct clinical and translational research in the causes and treatment of these complex disorders
- Improve the understanding of these diseases by the community through a series of programs aimed at the schools and community-based organizations
