Procedures We Perform

Over the course of their lives, female patients may face various gynecological health concerns. While many of these issues can be remedied with non-invasive treatments, sometimes surgical options are needed to provide optimal results and ensure the long-term health of the patient. Patients who are a part of our our network have access to the latest advanced procedures and technology in this dynamic field of medicine.

Just some of the surgical options we provide include:

  • Endometrial ablation (alternative to hysterectomy for women who suffer from heavy or prolonged periods)
  • Essure (minimally invasive method of permanent birth control)
  • Hysterectomy (removal of uterus)
  • Hysteroscopic surgery (removal of fibroids inside uterus)
  • Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) (to remove precancerous cells in the cervix)
  • Myomectomy (removal of uterine fibroids)
  • Removal of ovarian cysts
  • Removal of ovary
  • Removal of endometriosis
  • Removal of scar tissue
  • Bladder support surgery
  • Tubal ligation (tube tying)

Laparoscopic Surgery

Advancements in surgical medicine have led to an increasing number of laparoscopic procedures, including in gynecology. It can be used to explore the abdomen and reproductive organs. It may be used in cases of infertility, tubal sterilization, ectopic pregnancies and pelvic pain. It can also be used to diagnose endometriosis, fibroids and ovarian cysts.

Laparoscopic surgery involves making a small incision in the body (usually 1.5 centimeters or less) and using fiber optic cabling (a laparoscope) to see inside the patient. In many cases, robotic surgical procedures are laparoscopic. These procedures mean less scarring for the patient and often result in significantly quicker recovery times.

If you or a loved one is scheduled for gynecologic surgery and you have questions about their upcoming procedure, contact us today. We're ready to help you prepare for your surgery and coordinate the care needed for your recovery.
