Kidney Care Services in New Jersey

Kidney and bladder conditions are common medical issues in the United States. The kidneys perform various functions for the body, and there are several conditions that can interfere with these organs and cause complications.

What Are Your Kidneys Responsible For?

Your kidneys are responsible for sorting waste products and balancing chemicals in the body. Every day, quarts of blood are filtered through the kidneys to remove urine and transfer it to the bladder. Chemicals and nutrients your body needs, such as sodium and potassium, and kept in the blood and balanced by the kidneys to keep the body functioning at optimal efficiency.

Kidneys require pressure to do their job, and it is partially responsible for regulating blood pressure. The kidney can send signals to the body to increase or lower blood pressure as needed. Kidneys are also responsible for the production of erythropoietin, a protein that creates red blood cells.
