EMT Initial Training
If you volunteer with a NJ eligible rescue squad, you may be eligible to have the $2,000 waived with a training fund form. You MUST verify your agency is on this list by clicking HERE. In the “General Education Section” click on “Agencies Eligible for the EMT Training Fund” for the most up to date information. Besides waiving the $2,000 tuition fee, the Training Fund Form may pay for your FIRST attempt at the NREMT exam once you have successfully completed the program.

You should already be volunteering when you apply if you plan on using this form. Do not apply to one of our courses and then attempt to join a rescue squad. Getting started on a rescue squad can take time and some agencies require you to volunteer with them for a specified period of time before they will sign the form for you.

You do not need this form filled out prior to applying. We ask that you wait to get this form filled out until we provide you with the needed information in our acceptance packet.

RWJBarnabas Health cannot assist you in finding a rescue squad to volunteer with. Please contact the rescue squad closest to you to see if can start volunteering. Again, they have to be an eligible rescue squad in order to use the form. You MUST verify your agency is on this list by clicking HERE.
