Occupational Therapy

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway’s occupational therapists strive to help patients live as independently as possible, and resume the activities of daily living at home, work and leisure. Together with you, your significant other, family members or friends, occupational therapists create a plan to get you as close as possible to where you were before the injury or illness.

If you’ve lived alone and cooked for yourself prior to the accident or illness, occupational therapists can help you continue to do so. You don’t have to go into a nursing home or eat someone else’s cooking. With the right planning, instruction, adaptive equipment and/or modification, our experienced occupational therapists can help you return to your life. We have extensive experience in stroke rehabilitation, post-surgical joint rehab, spinal rehabilitation and custom splinting.

A prescription is required for occupational therapy.
