If you’re considering knee or hip replacement, The Joint Replacement
Center at RWJ Rahway provides an experienced team to help you before,
during, and after surgery. We provide pre-surgery and post-surgery education,
clinical expertise, therapy and the individual support you’ll need
to reduce your pain, restore function and improve your quality of life.
Our center offers total knee replacement and total and partial hip replacement.
Our surgeons are board-certified and have extensive experience in joint
replacement and minimally invasive techniques. We provide expert physical
therapy and nursing care for your post-surgery recovery. Our goal is helping
you meet your goal of living pain-free.
The Experience
The Joint Replacement Center at RWJ Rahway is different from others in
the area. As part of your recovery, we involve your family or friends
as “coaches,” to help motivate you. You’ll heal alongside
those who have had similar procedures and you wear your own clothes, no
hospital gowns.
Staff
Our staff consists of a joint care coordinator who is an Occupational Therapist
trained in rehabilitation, board-certified surgeons and physiatrists,
specialized nursing care, licensed Occupational and Physical Therapists,
and case managers to help you make the transition from hospital to a pain-free,
active life.
After Your Surgery
After your discharge, we offer extensive outpatient physical and occupational
therapy. Our therapists are consistently praised for their listening,
teaching, and motivational skills. If needed, the hospital provides complimentary
transportation services to qualified patients to continue outpatient physical
therapy at the hospital. For your convenience, expert outpatient physical
therapy is also available at the RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center
in Scotch Plains and Carteret.
