Speech and Language Therapy
Normal speech and language, as well as effective feeding skills, are essential
to the proper development of infants, children, and adolescents. As pediatric
professionals, the speech therapists at Children’s Specialized Hospital
are highly experienced with the unique needs of patients from birth through
21 years of age.
Our speech therapists are familiar with the developmental milestones that are normally attained at each stage in a child’s life. They provide age-appropriate activities to improve speech, communication, and feeding skills, and are adept at encouraging and motivating patients to reach their goals.
Speech Therapy is available for children with a variety of diagnoses including, but not limited to:
- Aphasia
- AD/HD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
- Developmental apraxia of speech
- Language-based learning disabilities
- Stuttering
- Brain injury
- Orofacial myofunctional disorders (tongue thrust)
- Feeding problems
- Swallowing problems
Speech Therapy is provided for patients with:
- Tracheostomies
- Ventilators
- Augmentative and alternative communication devices
