Pediatric Orthopedic Multidisciplinary Program
RWJBarnabas Health’s Pediatric Orthopedic Multidisciplinary Program offers comprehensive, coordinated care for children with complex neuromuscular and orthopedic conditions, all under one roof. Located in East Brunswick, New Jersey, the program offers families the convenience of having multiple specialists working together to ensure the best outcomes for their children.
Together, the multidisciplinary team develops individualized care plans using the latest evidence-based techniques and cutting-edge technologies, such as EOS imaging and gait analysis. And, with all services centralized in one location, the program ensures seamless communication among providers, allowing families to focus on caring for their child.
RWJBarnabas Health’s Children’s Health services brings together nationally recognized experts in surgical and nonsurgical treatments. Children with a wide range of conditions will benefit from the program’s holistic approach and families can expect guidance on everything from mobility equipment and medical tone management to spinal deformity correction and limb reconstruction.

Our Team of Specialists
The program’s multidisciplinary team is comprised of experts across various specialties from Children’s Specialized Hospital and the RWJBarnabas Health Pediatric Orthopedic Program, members of RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, including:
- Orthopedic surgery
- Physiatry
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
Children’s Specialized Hospital therapists with advanced training will also work closely with RWJBarnabas Health orthopedic surgeons to complete custom splinting, orthosis fabrication and casting as needed for infants through young adults as part of their treatment or post-surgical needs.

The program is designed to treat conditions such as:
- Cerebral palsy
- Spina bifida
- Hip dysplasia
- Scoliosis
- Fractures
- Arthrogryposis
- Upper limb congenital differences
- Tendon repairs
We treat many other orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions as well.

Children receiving care through this program will have access to a full spectrum of services, including:
- Surgery at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, which is recognized among the nation’s best children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report
- Inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation
- Ongoing physical and occupational therapy from Children’s Specialized Hospital
- Customized orthotic bracing from on-site orthotists
