Treating Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis & Pulmonary Conditions in New Jersey

Our System's pediatric pulmonologists employ their years of experience and access to the latest in diagnostic equipment and technology to treat children with all sorts of lung conditions. Our facilities are equipped to evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for both chronic and acute respiratory conditions. Our extensive health network and multidisciplinary approach allows access to a full team of pediatric specialists supported by New Jersey's largest health care system.

For children with mild, moderate or severe asthma, we provide diagnosis and treatment and teach the patient and his/her family how to manage and control the disease. Children with acute, long-lasting coughs are often referred to our physicians for evaluation of this often difficult to diagnose problem. We diagnose and treat all forms of pediatric respiratory infections as well as recurrent and persistent pneumonias.

Some of the conditions we focus on are:

  • Asthma: With the incidence and prevalence of asthma increasing, the Asthma Program was established in 2005 to offer comprehensive care and assessment for children with asthma. This care includes routine lung function testing at every clinic visit. Our asthma services include:
    • Treatment plan evaluation
    • Special breathing tests
    • Allergy testing
    • Continued care
  • Cystic Fibrosis: The Comprehensive Cystic Fibrosis Center is one of only 3 level III CF centers in New Jersey that is accredited by the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Our cystic fibrosis services include:
    • Consultation with patients who have a positive newborn screen
    • Comprehensive ambulatory and inpatient care
    • Evaluation and testing
    • Counseling, case management and advocacy
    • Life-long follow up care
    • Comprehensive education programs
  • Sleep Disorders: Our specialized staff, operating under the supervision of board-certified sleep physicians, is available to meet all of your family’s needs. Our services include:
    • A sleep study to assess your child’s sleep patterns, including disrupted breathing, snoring, leg movements, heart rhythms and oxygen levels.
  • Technology Dependence Program: The technology dependence center was created to help educate patients and their families on how to provide quality medical care to children with special needs at home. Our services include:
    • Education for patients and their families
