In partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Cancer Center at RWJUH Hamilton provides patients access to the most advanced treatment options including clinical trials.

Our multidisciplinary team of nationally recognized specialists includes surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, nurses, oncology support professionals and nurse navigators who serve as a vital resource during each patient’s cancer journey.

At the Cancer Center at RWJUH Hamilton, we believe that holistic services are an important part of our cancer center and create the optimal healing environment for our patients. Surrounded by the RWJ Grounds for HealingTM, patients have the ability to view beautiful gardens and sculpture or actually choose many of their treatments outdoors.

Our team has extensive experience helping patients and their families adjust to the many challenges they may face following a cancer diagnosis and during treatment. We offer a number of oncology support services, including holistic offerings, support groups and other services to address the needs of individuals with cancer at different stages of their journey.*

Aromatherapy/Essential Oils/Gazing Therapy (with or without scents). Personal diffusors are offered with your choice of soothing scents, soft music and lighting. Set up an appointment, before or after treatment.

Pet Therapy
Certified pet therapy includes dogs and other animals that help patients and loved ones to cope with health problems, including cancer. Visiting with a certified therapy pet may provide comfort during a difficult time. Therapy dogs visit patients and family members outside in the healing garden and also chairside.

Reiki
Reiki is a whole-body energy experience used in conjunction with modern medical treatment. It is a painless, hands on or hands above healing technique to invoke healing. Reiki helps to ease stress, lower pain levels, improve sleep, and reduce anxiety. Sessions are held in your infusion room.

Spiritual Care

Regardless of a person’s faith, tradition or culture, illnesses can raise a lot of spiritual questions and thoughts. The Chaplaincy team is available to provide emotional support for patient and their loved ones. The chaplain visits right in your infusion room.

Boutique Services
Hair, wig, are done in collaboration with local salons. These professionals are certified in the unique needs of patients undergoing cancer treatments. Offering haircuts, wig care etc.

Music and Singing

Cello, violinist, harp, ukulele, flute, piano and other musical opportunities offered for listening. Music can offer a calming and soothing sense for those dealing with a medical condition like cancer.

Moving Art

Live Painting Demonstrations including floral, scenery, sculpting and hands on instruction are periodically offered throughout the year.

*The Holistic Program is provided at no cost to patients of the RWJUH Hamilton Cancer Center and their families.

Convenience and Comfort

Located on the campus of RWJUH Hamilton our Cancer Center was designed to be a warm and welcoming environment while providing the latest technologies and advanced cancer treatments. Patients are able to meet with all of their health care team members and receive their chemotherapy and radiation therapy, as well as psychosocial support all in one convenient location.

A cancer center built outside the walls of the hospital provides a healing environment. Each patient infusion bay looks to the outdoors, featuring calming floor-to-ceiling views of plants, birds and sculpture in the landscaped Grounds For Healing®.

Ample free parking is available adjacent to the Cancer Center. Coordination of medical transportation if needed, is available when patients are not feeling well.
