Language Access Services
At RWJBarnabas Health, we provide timely language access to our patients
with limited English proficiency and their loved ones. We provide free
language services, including qualified interpreters, to people whose primary
language is not English. Language Assistance Services information is provided
in multiple languages.
As safety is our number one priority, we deliver accurate and consistent
interpretation services, ensuring that communication with each person
is effective and reliable. We make sure the line of communication is clear
between our patients/families and the doctors, nurses and staff.

Language Access with Martti (My Accessible Real Time Trusted Interpreter)
People with limited English proficiency have the right to have an interpreter.
Please ask for one upon arrival at any RWJBarnabas Health location.
Martti’s Language Access Solution puts certified and/or qualified
medical interpreters within reach and one-touch simplicity 24/7 at all
RWJBarnabas Health locations. Martti ensures language access anytime,
anywhere at no cost to our patients.
Martti provides access to interpreters in approximately 250 languages.
The top five languages used across all of our RWJBarnabas locations include
Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, French, and Arabic along with American
Sign Language (ASL).
