Early Intervention Program
Children’s Specialized Hospital Early Intervention Program is a state and federally funded program that provides early identification, evaluation, and intervention for children from birth to three years of age. Children are eligible for early intervention services if they show a measurable developmental delay or have a diagnosed condition that has a high probability of impairing normal development.
Early Intervention Program Services
All of the services are provided in a natural environment, including the child's home or in a community setting. The Early Intervention Program provides the following services based on the identified needs of the family and child:
- Developmental Intervention: a specialized service that focuses on a child’s global development rather than a single specific skill
- Speech therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Nursing supports
- Social work
- Family training
- Vision and Hearing
Features of the Early Intervention Program
- Promotes social, cognitive, language, and physical development through a variety of fun, but educational and therapeutic activities
- Is delivered in the child's natural environment, such as their home, child care, or community settings
- Provides parent/caregiver training and participation in EIP sessions
- Provides parent support services (if needed)

Evaluations are conducted by a two person team and are provided at no cost to patients/families. No referral or doctor recommendation is necessary.
