Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical and surgical care. The unit is staffed by full-time pediatric critical care physicians and nurses, each certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Accommodations are made for one parent to remain with the child overnight.
A step-down unit for children who do not need the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, but require close observation and monitoring, is available within the Pediatric Unit. A wide range of pediatric sub-specialists are available as needed for consultation. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Transport Service is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling 1-800-279-CBMC.
