Welcome to The Pediatric Surgery program at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Our team is dedicated to providing the highest-quality, modern and state-of-the-art pediatric surgical care for your child, in the safest possible environment. Our board-certified pediatric surgeons operate on children from the newborn stage through the teenage years for conditions that affect the digestive system, abdomen, lungs, urinary and reproductive systems.

Our team of surgeons and advanced practice providers are dedicated to clinical best practices. We review and analyze innovative technology and surgical advancements, including minimally invasive surgery techniques, to provide the best care for each of our patients.

Your child is also cared for by a pediatric anesthesiologist, who has received advanced training in the care of infants and children. With specialized pediatric nursing staff and child life specialists in the Emergency Department, Operating Room, Intensive Care Unit, Shyan Sun, M.D. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatrics Unit, our team members strive to make each child feel safe and well cared for.

Some children with complex problems may require the expertise of a variety of pediatric specialists beyond those in our Pediatric Surgery Program. For situations that require a multidisciplinary approach, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center offers a wealth of expertise in every pediatric field, including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious disease, nephrology, pulmonology and rheumatology. Whenever necessary, specialists from across the spectrum of care will work together to meet the needs of our young patients.
