Patient Resource Library

To help cancer patients and their families better understand their diagnoses, The Steeplechase Cancer Center features a resource library featuring more than 200 books, DVDs and CDs, as well as computers with Internet access. The computers and materials were supported through a grant from Ethicon, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson Company, to Somerset Health Care Foundation.

Specially trained volunteers help patients find materials, which range from books on types of cancer to vegetarian cookbooks and meditation CDs, and help patients locate reputable Web sites that can supplement the information provided by their care team.

Patients and their families have access to a variety of educational programs and patient information through Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset's Community Health Department. For a listing of upcoming events, call 908-685-2814 for more information.
