Meet the Breast Cancer Patient Navigator

When you receive a diagnosis of breast cancer, navigating the health care system to get the care you need can be confusing. The Breast Cancer Patient Navigator at The Steeplechase Cancer Center can help.

Registered nurse and patient navigator Kimberly Cromwell-Piniella, CBCN, BSN, RN has experience in providing support and guidance to breast cancer patients and their families.

The patient navigator can:

• Guide you through diagnosis, treatment and recovery, utilizing our multidisciplinary team to develop an individualized plan of care
• Coordinate referrals from physicians and health care facilities
• Provide you with education related to your illness and planned treatment
• Meet with you preoperatively and postoperatively to assess and reinforce education in preparation for discharge
• Remain available to you when worries and fears become overwhelming
• Connect you with resources such as counseling, social work, rehabilitation support groups and specialty items
