Equal Visitation Policy

Visiting Hours

Our primary goal at RWJUH is to provide the best quality of care in an environment that is safe for our patients.

Please note the following:

RWJUH promotes the healing and well-being of our patients by supporting visitation by family members and others. The Medical Center does not restrict or deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or disability. The Medical Center assures that all visitors enjoy full and equal visitation privileges consistent with patient preferences "regardless of whether the visitor is a family member, a spouse, a domestic partner (including a same-sex domestic partner), or other type of visitor, as well as their right to withdraw such consent to visitation at any time".

  • Staff Training in LGBTQ Patient-Centered Care – Staff throughout the Medical Center receive training in providing care that is sensitive to the LGBTQ community.

We are committed to ensuring that LGBTQ patients can access quality healthcare in an accepting and supportive environment.
