Office of Diversity & Inclusion

Access. Inclusion. Diversity. Health Equity.

RWJUH's Office of Diversity and Inclusion works to ensure that diversity and inclusion are woven into the fabric of everything we do. We partner with our senior leaders, partnership councils, business resource groups, internal business units, and the community to impact our organization, empowers employees, enrich the patient experience, engage the communities we serve, and support RWJUH's efforts to eliminate health disparities.

Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement

Diversity, inclusion, and cultural competency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital are imperative to our mission of being a leading, nationally distinguished academic medical center. In our quest to ensure health equity and reduce health care disparities, they are core values that are woven into the fabric of everything we do. We are working to foster a culture of inclusion that enriches our workforce, physicians, patients, families, partners and communities. At RWJUH, valuing diversity acknowledges that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. Inclusion begins with acknowledging the behaviors linked to creating a culture of dignity, innovation, and cultural effectiveness.

We respect the whole individual, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity or self-expression, and sexual orientation. Through the execution of our mission, vision and values, we empower employees and provide a framework for bringing about positive health outcomes for our diverse patient populations.
