Magnet Recognition from the American Nursing Credentialing Center ANCC Named to Best Maternity Hospitals 2021 List from Newsweek American Heart Association Healthgrades Bariatric Surgery Excellence Award 2019-2021

  • RWJUH has achieved Magnet Recognition® for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center five times.
  • RWJUH Cancer Hospital is the flagship facility of the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, New Jersey’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
  • The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer has rated RWJUH among the nation’s best comprehensive cancer centers.
  • RWJUH was named to Newsweek’s 2021 list of Best Maternity Care Hospitals, in recognition of the exceptional care we provide to mothers, newborns and their families (verified by the 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Survey).
  • The RWJUH Stroke Center has been recognized by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association as meeting The Joint Commission's standards for Disease-Specific Care Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification, which means it is part of an elite group of providers focused on complex stroke care.
  • RWJUH Comprehensive Stroke Center has earned the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and its Stroke Elite Plus Honor Roll Award—two of the highest honors that a center can receive from the organization for exceptional stroke care.
  • RWJUH has been recognized three years in a row for Bariatric Surgery Excellence by Healthgrades. This award recognizes patient outcomes in the top 5% nationally. RWJUH is the only hospital in Central and South New Jersey to receive this award.
  • RWJUH has been recognized as a “Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the country’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, for five consecutive years.
