Vascular Surgery Fellowship

Our system Heart Center at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center offers a fully ACGME-accredited 2-year fellowship program in Vascular Surgery. One (1) fellow is accepted to the program every year, for a total of two (2) residents in training at any time. The program is lead by Bruce J Brener, MD.

The Vascular Residents rotate at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, changing every three (3) months. Support is provided by administrative, secretarial and research personnel. The service is designed to provide a broad exposure to multiple vascular disorders and will become acquainted with the pre, intra- and post- operative care of the vascular patient. Upon completion of the program, the fellow will have mastered basic knowledge of arterial, venous and lymphatic disorders and the multiple methods of treating them, using both endovascular and open surgical skills; having acquired specialized, advance knowledge in these areas.
