Internal Medicine Residency

at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center

Welcome

two physicians talking to each other in the hospital hallway

The Internal Medicine residency program at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center provides a well-balanced educational experience in a clinically diverse, quaternary care, community-hospital setting, with a strong university affiliation. By providing residents exposure to a mix of urban patients from the surrounding community, and patients referred from neighboring suburban communities, we offer a broad cultural and clinical and clinical spectrum. Residents thus gain both practical and academic training, balancing supervision and teaching with gradual clinical autonomy. This provides an ideal framework to educate the medical house officer.

Man Sudying

We are proud that our residency program offers the education that tomorrow’s general internist will need in order to provide superior patient care, and one which will provide a sound foundation for the subspecialist of the future.

At Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, residents receive experience in all aspects of primary, subspecialty, and critical care medicine, as well as exposure to clinical research.
