The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is composed of divisions including Maternity, the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the Division of Gynecologic Cancer and Pelvic Surgery, the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science, and The Center for Urogynecology.

Our Maternity service is one of the largest in Northern New Jersey. As a high-risk obstetrical referral service, we offer all the facilities necessary to care for you and your baby. With a high-tech neonatal intensive care unit and extensive support services, we are ready for any eventuality. Expert physicians and dedicated our nursing and support staff provide the highest quality of care.

Perinatologists with the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine are sought as consultants by obstetricians throughout the tri-state area for the management of high-risk or complicated pregnancies. Our experts use leading-edge diagnostic technology and treatments, including fetal intervention and surgery.

Gynecologic Surgery

The Caterina A, Gregori, MD, Women’s Center for Gynecological Surgery is a one of a kind facility combining the excellence of the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Gynecological staff and our experienced and highly trained nursing staff with our long tradition of providing the highest quality health care services to women. The Women’s Center offers the most sophisticated technology available and was designed to create a comforting and healing environment.

Your gynecological surgery needs will be met in a place designed exclusively for women. The Women’s Center features restful music, warm soothing colors and soft lighting to create an atmosphere that is comforting and fosters healing. Special attention has been given to every detail – from attractive artwork to a comfortable robe.

A relaxing waiting area for family members is available. In addition, patients and families can benefit from the extensive educational materials, focusing specifically on a variety of women’s health topics, which are available.

Our Division of Gynecologic Cancer and Pelvic Surgery is nationally recognized for its expertise in treating gynecologic malignancies and is one of the largest centers in the northeastern United States with one of the highest patient volumes. Team members foster innovative clinical research for the benefit of patients and deliver comprehensive care in a sensitive way.

The Latest in Fertility Treatments and Reproductive Medicine

At the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science (Division of Reproductive Endocrinology), our world-renowned embryologists and endocrinologists have pioneered many of today's assisted reproductive technologies, including preimplantation genetic diagnosis and cytoplasmic transfer, which increase the chance of a viable pregnancy. The Institute's pregnancy rates are among the highest in the country. Our patients have come to us from 43 states and 17 foreign countries.

The Fibroid Center

The Fibroid Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center offers women a team approach to diagnosing fibroids, noncancerous growths in the uterus. Fibroids are a common gynecologic condition. Symptoms can include heavy menstrual bleeding, prolonged periods, and pelvic pain. We provide a wide array of individualized treatment options.

Urogynecology Services for Pelvic Floor and Incontinence

The Center for Urogynecology of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center) specializes in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, urinary stress and/or urge incontinence, overactive bladder, voiding dysfunction, fecal incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, including interstitial cystitis and other urogynecologic problems. An experienced medical team offers patients both conservative and surgical approaches.
