How to Become an Adult Volunteer

Volunteers apply their individual expertise and passion for giving back in many ways. Our numerous programs include working with patients, visitors, and staff. Our team will match your skill sets to an appropriate opening throughout our medical center.

Adult Volunteer Service Requirements

  • Age: Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age
  • Interview: Please call 973-322-5592 to leave a message with your contact information. Please allow 5 business days for a return call.
  • Completed Application (received after successful interview)
    • References
    • Background Check
    • Medical Attestation Form and Clearance: to be completed by applicant’s physician – includes all current medical requirements to ensure up to date immunization status
    • Annual flu vaccination required
  • Attendance at Orientation Program: This includes important safety and regulatory information necessary for all volunteers
  • Time Commitment: Volunteers are expected to serve a minimum of three hours per week and overall for one year or more
  • Dress Code: Volunteer uniform and security ID badge provided by the Medical Center, along with business attire (no jeans/denim, shorts, or casual clothes)
