The Melchiorre Cancer Center will reimagine cancer care to better support patients, families, and care givers through every step in their cancer journey. The multidisciplinary, standalone ambulatory Cancer Center will feature 137,000 square feet dedicated to ushering in a new era of cutting-edge cancer diagnosis and advanced treatment services.
Collaboration and Integration
- Together with Rutgers Cancer Institute, New Jersey’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Melchiorre Cancer Center will offer the most advanced multidisciplinary, patient-centric cancer care available in the state.
- Eleven oncology specialties will be represented among care teams providing medical, surgical, and radiation oncology care.
- Increased access to clinical trials, additional genetic counseling services, and advanced diagnostic imaging technology are just a few of the resources that will be available to patients.
Patient-Centered Care
- The Melchiorre Cancer Center will offer a range of holistic support services, including a dedicated wig and prosthetic studio, a state-of-the-art teaching kitchen, and many other patient-forward amenities.
- By increasing staff, more patients will have access to social workers and patient navigators who can help guide them through their cancer care.
- Short-and-extended stay suites will dramatically improve the patient experience and will reduce the need for Emergency Room and Urgent Care visits for patients undergoing treatment.
