Randi Schwartz Zalayet, MS, CCC-SLP
Randi is a speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience,
primarily serving the pediatric population in medical settings. She received
her Bachelor of Arts in Communication/English from Rutgers University
and her Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Hunter College,
New York City. Randi has worked primarily in outpatient hospital settings,
starting at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, and for the past
20 years at RWJBarnabas Health. Currently, she serves as the Supervisor
of the Speech Department/West Orange Site for Children’s Specialized
Hospital and Program Director for The NJ Institute of Craniofacial Surgery
at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Randi also serves as an adjunct
professor for Seton Hall University, teaching a course on Craniofacial
Anomalies.
Randi treats a variety of communication disorders including articulation and phonological disorders, apraxia, motor planning and language disorders, auditory processing deficits. She specializes in treating children with feeding, articulation and resonance disorders often associated with Cleft Lip/Palate, VPI and other craniofacial anomalies. Randi has been the speech language pathologist on a Cochlear Implant Team and has experience working with hearing impaired children. Randi is trained in PROMPT and is an advocate for a DIR/Floortime approach to therapeutic intervention for children with ASD.
