Advanced Surgical Options for Children
As a leading New Jersey healthcare provider, especially when it comes to pediatric surgical care, we are proud to be a leader when it comes to advanced surgical options.
When you bring your child to one of our facilities to discuss surgery, you can always talk with our compassionate physicians about the available surgical options.
Some of these options are minimally invasive procedures as well as robotic surgery.
Minimally invasive surgery is any technique involved in surgery that does not need a large incision. This relatively new approach allows the patient to recuperate faster with less pain. Not all conditions are suitable for minimally invasive surgery. Many surgery techniques now fall under minimally invasive surgery.
Robotic surgery uses a high-level computer system to enhance precision, control and dexterity during surgery. In a robotic surgical procedure, a computer is positioned between the surgeon’s hands and the tips of microinstruments, giving surgeons the control, range of motion and 3-D visualization characteristic of open surgery. The techniques allow the surgeon to operate through several small incisions about the size of a dime.
Both of these procedure types are not always applicable for every condition warranting surgery. Your physician will work with your child and you to find the perfect surgical care plan to deliver the best outcome.
