Computerized Axial Tomography (CT)

CT

The 64 or 16 slice CT units scan from shoulder to hip in less than 16 seconds. Faster than traditional systems, CT scans combine x-ray technology and computer precision to generate a cross section image of the body referred to as a “slice”, ultimately creating a 3D image that can rotate for doctors to see the body from all angles. The CT scanner can show several types of tissue including (but not limited to) lung, bone, soft tissue, and blood vessels with immense clarity. CT scans are performed with or without contrast, depending on the needs of the exam.
