Urologic Oncology Program

The urologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other cancer specialists at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital explore surgical, medical, and therapeutic options collaboratively to ensure the best possible outcome for each patient. Our team of physicians include fellowship-trained and experienced leaders in testicular, kidney, and bladder cancer.

Clinical Trials

For certain cancers, standard treatments alone may not be sufficient. Our physicians are active researchers exploring new cancer treatments, offering cutting-edge clinical trials to our patients.

Surgical Solutions

Surgeons from our urologic oncology program are versed in the full spectrum of surgical approaches and employ minimally invasive techniques whenever possible. We offer open and robotic partial and radical nephrectomy for kidney cancer, radical nephrectomy with venous thrombectomy and/or metastasectomy for advanced kidney cancers, and open and robotic radical cystectomy with various urinary diversion options for invasive bladder cancer. Our surgeons are highly experienced in retroperitoneal lymph node dissections (RPLND), which is aimed to preserve fertility in men with testicular cancer, and are performing the most RPLNDs in the state of New Jersey annually.

Our program has unique expertise in performing re-operative surgery and salvage procedures for patients with recurrent cancers of the prostate and bladder after radiation therapy, and managing rare urologic cancers, such as cancers of the adrenal gland, penis, urethra, and genitourinary sarcomas.
