Kidney and pancreas transplants can drastically improve the quality of life of people with kidney failure or hard-to-control diabetes. A kidney transplant is the single best treatment option for someone with kidney failure (end-stage renal disease). At Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH), our highly trained physicians perform living donor kidney transplants as well as transplants from deceased donors.

RWJUH is an academic medical center with the largest pancreas transplant center in New Jersey. We have the resources to help patients with complex conditions that could be barriers to transplantation at other centers. Our partnership with Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) means we have access to the latest research and clinical trials for state-of-the-art care.

RWJUH’s program ranks first in New Jersey and second in the mid-Atlantic region in the number of pancreas transplants performed each year.

We serve patients with complex conditions that may be barriers to transplantation at other hospitals.

Our experienced transplant team has developed a robust program to help adults and children navigate the transplant process. We personalize the program to fit each person's needs, addressing both physical and emotional health, to give our patients the best chance of success.

Pediatric care will be coordinated at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital (BMSCH), our dedicated children's facility, which was named one of the best children’s hospitals in the United States by U.S. News & World Report.

Getting an early start on the transplant process not only leads to better outcomes, but it can also contribute to a better quality of life. Contact us today!
