Pediatric Residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center

Pediatric Residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center

The academic year has a total of thirteen 4-week blocks. The curriculum begins by setting a solid foundation for the interns with subsequent opportunities to develop their supervising and teaching skills as they progress through residency training. Resident teaching is an important aspect of the training experience with oversight of medical students from New Jersey Medical School. Weekly Continuity Clinic is designated either at the Pediatric Health Center at NBIMC, Cooperman Barnabas Pediatric Health Center of University Hospital’s Ambulatory Pediatric Center. Individualized Learning Plans are developed in the PGY-2 Year allowing a flexible experience to achieve unique professional goals.

Residents rotate through three unique sites: The Children’s Hospital of NJ at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (primary site), Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, and University Hospital.
