Valve Center

Our experienced high-volume Valve Center performs more cardiac valve procedures annually than any other center in New Jersey. This interdisciplinary program combines the expertise of cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and cardiac imaging specialists who work in concert to precisely identify the pathology and provide the most appropriate and least invasive treatment.

Depending on the specific needs of the patient, the entire spectrum of valve options is available and may be combined with other procedures such as CABG, surgical ventricular reconstruction, aortic dissection and aneurysm repair. The Valve Center is increasingly turning to valve repair versus replacement due to the improved long-term outcomes and avoidance of anticoagulants. Patients referred to the Valve Center will be part of the Center’s growing database that tracks patient outcomes indefinitely. The data provides the team with important information in determining which treatment approach offers the best long-term outcomes.

Our Heart Centers are the only program in the region to offer this level of collaborative care.
