SBMC RN Residency Program

Saint Barnabas Medical Center Health is offering The Professional Registered Nurse Residency Program for the newly licensed BSN graduate with less than one year of experience.

The program length is one year and consists of nursing orientation, clinical orientation and nine monthly topic sessions including simulation-based learning experiences, hands-on activities, team building activities, socialization, networking, case studies, shadowing experiences and mentorship.

Application requirements for participation include:

  • Graduated from a BSN program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Possession of an active unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey
  • Possession of American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Certification
  • Less than 12 months work experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting
  • Hired as a Full Time Registered Nurse
