How to Become a Teen Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in our teen volunteer program. The application window for the 2025-2026 program is now closed. Please feel free to revisit this site in April, 2026 for summer 2026 applications.

Teen Volunteer Service Requirements

  • Age: (15-17 years old; currently in 10th-12th grade)
  • Time Commitment: The summer program will run from June 30 to August 28. Teen volunteers should be available for two, 4-hour shifts per week for the duration of the program.
  • Dress Code: All volunteers wear a specific volunteer uniform of tan-colored khaki pants and polo shirt. A professional groomed appearance is required at all times.
  • Vaccination: All volunteers MUST be fully vaccinated.

Teen Volunteer Application Process:

  • After receipt of the Volunteer Interest Form, the Volunteer Resource Office will schedule a brief interview with the student applicant. Please allow time for the department to reply.
  • Completed Application (provided after the initial phone screening).
    • Reference Forms: to be completed by H.S. guidance counselor, and one personal reference.
    • Medical Clearance
      • Medical Attestation Forms to be completed by a student’s physician, including all current medical requirements to ensure up-to-date immunization status, including the flu vaccine. Volunteers MUST be fully vaccinated.
      • Urine Drug Screen (conducted at RWJ Corporate Care/Employee Health at no charge to the volunteer).
  • Completion of an Online Orientation Program: This includes important safety and regulatory information necessary for all volunteers.
  • In-Person Orientation: Teens are expected to attend an in-person orientation on Wednesday, June 25, or Friday, June 27, 2025.
