An Academic Medical Center

As major teaching partners of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey (our pediatric hospital) provide graduate medical education in cardiovascular diagnosis, interventional cardiology, heart failure electrophysiology, computed tomography (CT) surgery, vascular surgery and pulmonary critical care medicine.

And we are renowned for our heart transplant surgery services.

Our experienced specialists in interventional and structural cardiology, peripheral vascular occlusive and aneurysmal disease, and cardiac electrophysiology perform more than 3,000 procedures each year using the newest equipment, techniques and devices for diagnosing and treating structural heart and vascular disease.

American Heart Association

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center received the Get with the Guidelines Gold Award for Resuscitation from 2017 to 2022 for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer cardiac arrests in the hospital. Guidelines include following protocols for patient safety, medical emergency team response, effective and timely cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and post-resuscitation care.

This nonprofit, nationally-recognized accrediting organization was founded by medical professionals to advance the appropriate utilization, standardization and quality of diagnostic imaging and intervention-based procedures. NBIMC has earned accreditations for:
