We are reaffirming our 138-year legacy in Long Branch by continuing to invest in Monmouth Medical Center and modernizing health care for everyone we serve. Upgrading the facility that has served Monmouth County since 1887 will allow us to continue to provide high-quality health care in Long Branch well into the future. This continued commitment to Monmouth Medical Center and the planned launch of a new acute care hospital in nearby Tinton Falls are designed to ensure that we continue to meet the evolving health care needs of the community for generations to come.

Monmouth Medical Center’s Long Branch campus is comprised of multiple buildings added over time, and much of the current Long Branch campus is made up of aging facilities with the original building dating to 1914, and a majority of the buildings established more than 50 years ago. Our planned renovations for the Long Branch Campus, centered on the newest Todd and Stanley buildings, are expected to begin in 2033 or later. Additionally, conceptual designs call for the possible removal of the oldest existing buildings upon the completion of the Todd and Stanley buildings in order to provide more parking and green space, making for a better experience for patients, visitors and staff. Any future dismantling of obsolete buildings on the Long Branch campus would not be considered until 2035 or later.

These renovations at the Long Branch campus would follow the completion of the planned acute care hospital at the Vogel Medical Campus in Tinton Falls, expected to begin in 2027 with completion slated for 2032. The new site will be operated in conjunction with MMC’s current site, which is not closing and will continue to support the Long Branch community. The existing facilities at the Long Branch hospital will continue to be maintained with quality and technologically advanced care while the Tinton Falls hospital is being constructed.

Coming Soon Health & Tech & Municipal Park on LB Campus

In 2021, Monmouth Medical Center donated an in-kind gift of land valued at $30 million to the City of Long Branch. In 2023, the City of Long Branch was able to move forward with a vision to build the Long Branch Health, Wellness, and Technology Center and Park with the land and property donated by Monmouth Medical Center. The multi-use public complex will feature two buildings on the corner of Bath and Third Avenues that will house a full fitness center, the Long Branch and New York Railroad Museum, a commercial-size teaching kitchen, and community rooms to support nonprofit organizations. The Technology Center Building will serve as a new satellite of the Long Branch Free Public Library, with state-of-the-art computers, and a podcast studio for community use.
