Presenter: Jared Oberweis, Hinkle, Prior & Fischer, Disability Rights Attorney

About this session:

State and federal laws offer important protections, but can also be misapplied in some situations, causing a student with disabilities to be labeled as bully. Anti-bullying rules in school settings have revealed the extent to which students with disabilities – particularly those with social disabilities – are victims of bullying. Attorneys will describe the regulations surrounding bullying and will discuss strategies to help ensure that bullying is appropriately addressed not only through reactive measures, but also proactivity thought the IEP. This 90-minute presentation includes a Q&A.

This event will be presented via Zoom.
