Bio:
Nell Maloney Patel, MD FACS, FASCRS is a practicing Colon and Rectal Surgeon double board certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery and General Surgery. She is the Vice Chair for Education for the Department of Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and has a strong interest in surgical education. Within her local community, Dr. Maloney Patel serves as both the Faculty Secretary for Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School as well as President of the Medical Staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Dr. Maloney Patel received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine, before completing her residency in General Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. She then received additional subspecialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the John H. Stroger Hospital for Cook County in Chicago, Il. She has been in practice in New Jersey at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School since completing her fellowship in 2007. Clinically, she has a diverse Colorectal Practice with a focus on complex robotic surgery and re-operative surgery. She lives in Central NJ with her husband and her two great kids.

My goal is to foster an environment of trust, empathy, and respect, ensuring that every patient feels supported throughout their journey to recovery.
