Julia Benson, M.A., CCC-SLP

Julia Benson, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist with more than five years of experience across multiple healthcare settings. At Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, she specializes in the assessment and treatment of individuals diagnosed with head and neck cancer, addressing concerns with voice, speech and swallowing. Julia earned her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Kansas after completing her undergraduate studies at Northeastern University.

Julia is proficient in conducting both Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing (FEES) and Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS), essential diagnostic tools for patients with swallowing difficulties. Julia is also McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP) certified, which gives her patients additional swallow therapy options. As an SVI-trained vocologist, she offers advanced voice treatment options. She believes in a holistic approach to care following such a challenging diagnosis. She strives to collaborate effectively with all members of her patients’ medical team, each individual patient, and their support systems. Beyond her clinical duties, Julia helps run a monthly support group for individuals with head and neck cancer and their caregivers, demonstrating her commitment to comprehensive patient support.
