As the population of older adults in the United States of America and around the world grows to an unprecedented size, it is more important than ever to focus on the treatment and care shown to seniors in order to improve mental and physical health outcomes later in life. Join Monmouth University’s Occupational Therapy students for a weekly summer series designed to help improve the quality of life for older adults.
6/6: Session 1 - Successful Aging: We will kick off week one with an introduction to successful aging strategies.
6/13: Session 2 - Health Management: For session two, we will explore health management. This multifaceted approach considers physical, mental, and social needs to offer a comprehensive look at health.
6/20: Session 3 - Cognition: For the third session of the series, we will explore cognition and aging.
6/27: Session 4 - Activity: For our fourth session, we will discuss activities such as leisure occupations and hobbies, and learn the importance of social participation.
7/11: Session 5 - Physical Fitness: For session 5, we will explore the importance of physical fitness as we age and discuss recommendations for movement.
7/18: Session 6 - Affect & Legacy: For session six, we will explore legacy and affect to examine our shared memories and impact on the world, family, friendships, our profession, and community.
