The largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, RWJBarnabas Health, is seeking a Epilepsy Program Director to join Community Medical Center, a facility that provides state-of-the-art medical treatment across a broad spectrum of disciplines, in Toms River, NJ.
The ideal candidate will be excited to build up the existing Epilepsy program at Community Medical Center and return it to Level III Epilepsy Center status. Some duties will also be performed at an outpatient epilepsy clinic at a nearby office, minutes away from the hospital.
Position Responsibilities:
- Managing the inpatient video EEG unit at Community Medical Center, seeing elective admissions and emergency consultations.
- Supervising the EEG laboratory and technologists.
- Reading inpatient routine and video EEG (including ICU), as well as outpatient routine and ambulatory EEGs.
- Work in collaboration with a nurse practitioner and inpatient neuro-hospitalists, along with other epileptologists from the Institute of Neurology.
- Administrative responsibilities for the Epilepsy Program, working with hospital administration and other physicians to develop the program and set care guidelines for epilepsy and seizures.
- Affiliated with the Level IV Epilepsy Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, which provides support for epilepsy surgery and neurostimulation.
- Engage in community outreach efforts.
Candidate Requirements:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology
- Experience in Video-EEG interpretation
- NJ licensed or eligible for licensure
- Preferred candidates will have previous leadership experience
