Saint Barnabas Medical Center Rehabilitation at the JCC MetroWest is open and accepting new patients. Highly-trained and experienced staff in Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Physical Therapy are ready to help patients achieve their goals in a safe and caring environment. The center offers specialized evaluation and treatment not just for athletes, but for any active person with a musculoskeletal problem who wants to return to physical activity. This includes those who have undergone surgery or have sports, work-related or overuse injuries.

“Whether the goal of therapy is to walk unassisted or to return to playing sports, our team of physical therapists are passionate and work diligently with each patient to create individualized plans of care and goals to meet patient expectations,” explained Puja Desai, PT, DPT, Supervising Physical Therapist at Saint Barnabas Medical Center at the JCC MetroWest. Dr. Desai, an orthopedic residency trained clinician, has experience treating and helping patients recover from a wide range of injuries and musculoskeletal disorders.

When injuries do occur, the sports medicine team of physicians, physical and occupational therapists, athletic trainers and strength and conditioning specialists can offer expert management of joint, muscle, bone and other problems. “We can help enhance athletic performance and physical fitness, prevent acute and chronic injuries and extend athletic careers,” said Dr. Desai.

“Our therapists have extensive experience treating high school, college, professional and Olympic level athletes,” explained Charles Curtis, DPT, Director of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Saint Barnabas Medical Center. “They all continue to stay current on new treatment techniques through continuing education courses and achieving specializations.”
