Statewide Vascular Diagnosis & Treatment
The highly specialized services of the Vascular Center of RWJBarnabas Health are designed to provide comprehensive care in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the circulatory system. Advanced imaging techniques, including physiological studies, MRI, CT, ultrasound and angiography are combined to detect abnormalities in blood vessel walls and deficiencies in blood flow.
Diagnosis
Located at three convenient sites in northern New Jersey, our state-of-the-art vascular centers offer the most advanced non-invasive techniques for identifying the structure of blood vessels and measuring blood flow. Our experienced team of physicians and technologists can pinpoint the exact location of blockages, measure the degree of artery or vein impairment, and evaluate the condition of vessel walls. We provide the latest methods for diagnosing and evaluating stroke, phlebitis, varicose veins, aneurysms, renal artery stenosis and peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
Treatment
Once identified, many vascular conditions can be treated with innovative minimally invasive procedures that increase patient comfort and speed recovery, while reducing the risk of complications. Treatments include medical therapies and catheter-based interventions, as well as traditional surgical procedures.
Research
Our renowned team of vascular specialists offers patients access to cutting-edge treatment modalities that are not available elsewhere. Participation in prestigious clinical research trials provides patients with the next generation of stent-graft devices and other technological advances.
Education and Screening
The Vascular Center provides patient education and screening for people at risk for developing vascular disease. Informative sessions conducted by our professional staff outline the symptoms of vascular disease and the latest trends in treatment.
As centers of excellence, all three Vascular Centers provides education and training for physicians in practice, as well as physicians-in-training and technologists. Our residency and fellowship programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and offer highly specialized experience in the field of vascular surgery. The Vascular Centers are certified by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories and are staffed by registered vascular technologists.
