Center for Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
At the Center for Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, our highly skilled team of cardiac specialists offers the latest medical, interventional, and surgical options for fighting heart failure, including heart transplants and ventricular assist devices (VAD), also known as mechanical circulatory support devices. VADs are mechanical pumps that help the heart pump blood from its ventricles (lower chambers) to the rest of the body.
The Advanced Heart Failure Treatment and Transplant team is one of only a dozen centers in the nation that has performed more than 1,100 heart transplants and is ranked among the top 15 programs in the country. The medical center conducts clinical trials, or research studies, which offer the latest treatments even before they are available to the public.
