Social Services
Supportive Services
The goal of the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center’s team of licensed clinical social workers is to provide supportive services that assist cancer patients and their families along the continuum of care.
They work in collaboration with the entire team to offer services designed to teach patients and their families how to cope with the emotional aspects of a cancer diagnosis, including counseling, education, referral services, complementary services and support groups.
Social services such as transportation, wigs and prosthetic devices, financial and disability assistance, and home care are also available.

From diagnosis through treatment, and recovery and survivorship, we provide members with support, education, hope, and encouragement as a part of a community of others who are facing treatment and survivorship together.
The RWJBarnabas Health Oncology Support Program emphasizes wellness and the mind-body-spirit connection through support groups, physical activity programs, educational and experiential workshops, and mindfulness and relaxation programs.
All programs are free of charge and open to all RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute patients.
