Local Blood Supply is Dangerously Low -- Donor Help is Needed Now

Bradley Beach, N.J. – Monmouth Medical Center and RWJBarnabas Health are partnering with Bradley Beach and the Mayors Wellness Campaign for a community blood and platelet drive on Monday, September 18, from noon to 6 p.m.

The drive will be held at the Bradley Beach Fire Department located at 815 Main Street.

“The nation’s hospitals and blood centers are experiencing a severe blood shortage,” says Eric Carney, President and CEO of Monmouth Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. “We rely on the support of individual blood donors to provide much of the blood we use for lifesaving medical care, and we are so thankful to our community partners in Bradley Beach for issuing this Community Call to Action to help us save lives. Donating blood is a simple, selfless act that takes less than an hour and helps save the lives of those in our community.”

Appointments are strongly encouraged and available by calling 732-235-8100, ext. 221, or locally through communications@bradleybeachnj.gov Please bring photo identification and be sure to eat and drink prior to donating. Medical eligibility questions should be referred to 732-235-8100, ext. 221 or 248. All donors will receive a $5 coffee card and a chance to win a $50 Wawa gift card. Platelet donors receive a $10 Shop Rite card and Wawa gift card chance.
