RWJBarnabas Health has been named among Becker’s Hospital Review’s 100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Orthopedic Programs for 2023. The list celebrates the nation’s leading providers of orthopedic care and orthopedic programs that offer minimally invasive treatments, forward-thinking research, and breakthrough clinical trials that drastically improve patient outcomes.

RWJBarnabas Health offers comprehensive orthopedic services for adults and children to help manage conditions caused by arthritis, degenerative joint disease, injuries, congenital issues and general wear and tear. In early 2023, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville began construction on a 76,000 square-foot expansion which will house a new Orthopedic Center of Excellence. The expansion, which builds upon the hospital's existing Orthopedics Pavilion and Emergency Department building, will house 35 fully private patient rooms and a rehabilitation gym for orthopedic patients.
