Among the comments received in Dr. Gilman’s nominations were:

"I was lucky enough to come across a physician who helped us remember a time when doctors practiced medicine for the love of it. Her name is Dr. Elizabeth Gilman, and at the risk of sounding saccharine, she’s special."

"She had an easy smile, but not at the cost of her professionalism, a friendly demeanor yet strong diagnostic skills, the ability to think quickly and make decisions under pressure, and yet somehow still have excellent communication and interpersonal skills."

“I hope you don’t have to visit any ER, but if you do find yourself at Monmouth Medical Center, I hope you meet Dr. Elizabeth Gilman, and you will be assured, as we were, that wonderful emergency care is alive and well in N.J.”

Kenneth Granet, M.D., MMC Chief Medical Officer, noted that Dr. Gilman’s award exemplifies the attributes that she exhibits and her fellow health care professionals recognize.

“Monmouth Medical Center and the entire RWJBarnabas Health system excel due to the exceptional dedication, commitment and expertise of the entire health care team,” Dr. Granet said. “Dr. Gilman truly makes a difference to her patients, our hospital, and the entire community we serve.”

Dr. Gillman has more than 20 years’ experience in emergency medicine, and joined MMC in 2002.
